Isn't that the place where those Filipino/Indonesian/Muslim extremists always kidnap a few tourists then torture and behead them on their secret island?

You're on crack .... do you know how far is this island from philipinnes & indonesia ?

If the Muslim extremest can affort to go to french polynesian to behead people, then can finance the bombing of the whole NYC

eRr
I didn't say it was close to the Phillippines/Indonesia. Look man, all I know is that these terrorists like to take their boats to these types of hut-on-pier resorts. They just bring the boat right up to the pier, fire a few gunshots into the hut, and when tourists run out screaming they bag 'em, put 'em on the boat, and go off to their secret island. There are thousands of "uninhabited" islands in Polynesia...I'm sure they've got a secret base out there.

That setting is gorgeous and the price actually isn't all that bad compared to some places I've seen. I do consulting work for a web design firm in Hawaii and they're always doing sites for places like this in Hawaii and other parts of the South Pacific (which is frustrating since I haven't been to any of them; need to work out a barter deal at some point.) It's not at all uncommon to see accommodations like that usually going for $1,000+ night. So $600/night isn't bad. However I'd personally rather have a private bungalow tucked away on our private stetch of beach rather than have all my neighbors right there next to me. Not that I wouldn't like to go there or anything. 😀

Bah - I thought it was gonna be that place in the Poconos with the champagne glass hot tub.

Sadly, Mount Airy Lodge closed down before I could take advantage of it's various amenities.

This is the French Polynesia. The one you are talking are Philippines and Indonesian islands. Similar scenery but safer/less crowded I would think

Just a clarification, North and Central Philippines is the safe area - it's the South (Mindanao) where the rebels and extremists are terrorizing people from all over.

No AC in the premium bungalows over the water. Only in the beach bungalows. Be careful, it gets VERY humid down there.

BTW, my dad's been to this hotel before...he was staying in a nearby hotel and went to check it out. According to Travel Channel its currently the most luxurious hotel in the world.

Looks nice. Somehow staying in a tropical island in the middle of the pacific sounds more appealing that staying in the middle east

Thats assuming you don't like underwater casinos made of pure gold or something like that at Burj ul Arab.

Wow.

It doesn't look CG to me at all.
Me either. Surely Photoshopped for image quality, but not CG. The scenery's simply THAT beautiful as far as I can tell.

I think I'd rather stay on the beach than on what's esentially a small pier with rooms on it.
Bah hotels. Cruises are where it's at... different locations, with all the amenities. I'm ready to go, right now.

Boracay, Philippines is probably much nicer.....and ALOT cheaper

Not a bad idea, though i'd probably go to Bantayan Island first. Heck, while we're at it - why not just go island hopping? ( Philippine version of club hopping - only it's much more fun 😀 )

I remember seeing that hotel on TV. They provide transportation to and from the airport...in a Rolls Royce!!!! :Q

I've been to such fancy hotels.

Trust me. It gets booooring FAST! Plus it's way too pricey for what you get (no AC and bugs!)

The BEST way to experience such a beautiful beach is to camp out.

In Hawai'i, since all beaches are public, you can set up a tent and enjoy the same scenery as the most expensive, luxurious hotel that kisses the same beach. Many people with loads of money that have camped has made their island experience that much more special!
