well its definitely not a hardcore RPG because it sounds very familiar to me as well however I didn't play RPG's really, unless you consider soul blazer, zelda, or actraiser an RPG.

Well, to me it sounds most similar to "A Long Awaited Rest" from 7th Saga, and Tifa's Theme from FF7.

I finally got around to listening it, and it's definitely not Chrono Trigger. I don't recognize it at all, either, but Phantasy Star would have to be my guess if indeed it is game music.
