Crepes are the fucking SHIT. They can be savory or dessert. Jesus christ crepes filled with ice cream, topped with strawberries and whip cream and almonds and shit PWN waffles like a mother fucker.

The crepe stands at Christkindlmarkts in Germany are great. Get a salami & cheese crepe, walk around and do stuff for a bit, then hit another one and get a chocolate syrup & powdered sugar crepe, along with some gluhwein. Mmmmm...

Qft! Have run into quite a few friends who have never tried it (and some went "ugh" at the suggestion) then completely did a 180 once they tasted it. Been doing it since I was a kid (thanks Dad)!
 
i've never tried waffles either. i love pancakes though. there's a waffle house next to my place, maybe one day i will stop by and see what the fuss is all about
