This might be the most absurd hotel fee I've seen

We typically pack a medium size cooler if we're driving, but I guess those who fly in would be at a disadvantage. I would think a super cheap styro cooler filled with hotel supplied ice would be the easiest solution, it could simply be left by the trash can when you leave.

even better: make sure it's filled with thawed, room temperature bait minnows before you leave
 
Step 1: Go to Best Buy

Step 2: Buy a cheap mini fridge & plug it in the room for the duration of your visit

Step 3: Sell on Craigslist when you leave

You can get a small peltier fridge for under $50. That's all most of the hotel fridges are anyways. Craigslist would be a pain, but you could literally throw it away and come out ahead. Plus you wouldn't be support the absurd fee.
