I'm *REALLY* happy with my rig now guys, tell me what you think.

Antec SOHO Fileserver case in white
Shuttle AK31 r3.1 w/ e8 perf bios
AMD AthlonXP 1600+ running @ 1755
512mb of cl2.5 pc2100
2 20gb ata5/7200rpm HD's
Mitsumi 8x junk burner
AOpen 16x DVD rom (runs udma mode 66 and rips audio @ 22x!)
Visiontek Geforce3 TI200 running 210/450
Creative Labs Audigy OEM
Junk PCI modem
Intel 10/100 nic
Stock 300w ANTEC power supply
total of 8 fans in the computer

Temps: -Mainboard 21.0c (right now, been on for an hour with the case closed)
-Processor (stock voltage) 36.5c constant idle (playing mp3s, web browsing), never goes over 40c running CPU burn!

Should I be happy or what, what do you think I should change?!

It's probably running at 1.5GHz. I had a 1600+ that wouldn't run past that no matter what cooling or voltage.

Edit: Your too quick 🙂 You beat me at the post.

what is your memory benchmark.
mine is ALU/830, FPU/1063
ak31, v3.1, latest official bios, 1.4 tbird, 9.5x150fsb. default voltage.
can't get it over 166fsb.

I've got mine running at 1.614Ghz (1600xp), with voltage set at 1.80v, vram to 2.54v. CPU set to 10.5 X 153fsb. Try upping your voltage a little then your fsb. Hmmm, AMD site says Antec psu should be 400W, you may need a bigger psu to get any higher...but all the same, nice specs!

Overdoes,
You got lots of goodies stuffed in your system and you got lots of fans as well. Im glad to hear that you're having fun with it but you said "Tank"? ummm... Antec is good.. but a 300watt Antec PSU isn't gonna be tank to handle your system at full stability. Talk about tank, how about some 550watt- 600+watt Antec PSU? Now, that's tank. 😀

well, since i moved up from a k6-2 450, it's a tank to me

there will be a 400+ watt PSU in this thing by tommorow 😉

well I just got an Enermax EG365P-VE 350w ATX power supply to replace the Antec and a slower fan to kill some of the noise since it runs so cool anyway (6cu+ 7000rpm to 6cu 5000rpm fan, both 60mm)

hopefully this will make things even nicer

run some prime95 on it and take note of the temp, thats your processors peak temp, you can try toast to get highest temp but its piontless cause it doesnt test stability.
