Either someone has no life or they just ran the shows script through some software.
If they had to make that software themselves though, they still have no life.

Alright, I have a serious obsession with Lost.

My obsession seems like barely feigning interest in comparison to that.

And I ever wrote a paper on Lost. Granted, it was for a college writing course about critiquing TV. :p

It is absolutely amazing how damn accurate my thesis is in regards to the show. I wrote it as season 4 was getting near the finale. Granted they've used the themes I discussed numerous times but they've really gotten strong with some of it.

Fixed. I don't know how anyone can watch the garbage on TV without throwing up.
And yet you felt compelled to come into this thread about that "garbage" show.

Don't worry, at least the rest of us now know to disregard your opinions on TV shows.

Hmm... probably not very hard to do if he got copies of the scripts

Yep I assume also show script and software to read them but still absolutely pathetic.

It's cool but utterly useless. Doing it via software would be easy and not take that much time. A competent programmer might take 4 or 5 hours, I would guess.

I came into this thread having no idea what it was. I still had no idea and wasted even more time googling around. Enjoying reality TV enough to defend it on the internet is pretty much tattooing your forehead with "IQ: 85", thanks for letting me know I can disregard your opinion on everything.

PS - it was probably a class project. Nobody would do something like this for the hell of it.

Lost is just a Drama, it's not reality TV. It's not much different than the rest of the Dramas showing, except most of the time you have no idea wtf is going on in the first few seasons and there is a huge cast of actors.

Well ... to defense myself... I am not so crazy.

As Mo0o said it was not so hard. I have my own tools (coded in processing) to do stuff like that, as you can see in my blog (http://www.juanosborne.com/). And, of course, I used the scripts hosted in lostpedia.

I spend more time making it 'beatifull' that in the process itself.

My interest is not only focused in Lost (ok, I am a fan) but also in any kind of text information like speeches or newspapers. Words are powerfull, and I want to know how they use it.

.. and I have a regular job as architect, two daughters and a wife... but yes, she always say "you have no life." :)

Seriously, I have no clue how someone could call Lost a reality tv show. There's nothing remotely *real* about it. It's be a frighteningly awesome reality, but alas, we has no smoke monster deities and skipping-through-time islands.

Ha, we always attract the original author of things discussed here.
Welcome to ATOT. :D

Lost is one of the best shows to have ever existed to do serious research. Character behavior and interactions (including their dialogue) is, imho, incredibly grounded in reality. The writers are genius, having developed some creepy as hell realistic character. A lot of social theory is very evident throughout the series, from psychology, sociology, philosophy, and religious references. Some more obvious than others, some are incredibly hard to tell except for the tiniest of references if you pay attention (names, and knowing the theories attached to those names). My favorite was the tiny reference to Jeremy Bentham.
