It was a mouth breathing old man. If hes making this kind of mistake, I wonder what other mistakes hes making on the road... scary I tell ya.
That and he wasnt signally either - so the truck infront of me was parked waaay back like WTF... they were taking photos too.

It's kinda hard to see. So it looks like the guy is pretty much out in the middle of the intersection?

Also, what is the big deal about license plate numbers?

You see perhaps hundreds a day. Is this privileged information? Should I be writing them down?

Took me a second, look again. Think big picture.

I've never seen an intersection like that. The median makes it look like that lane is one of yours, if you don't notice the yellowness of the line. What if he's colorblind? Bad design.

I've seen a bunch, especially off of 288 here. But I guess if you're doing that, you're not smart enough to look up and see the traffic lights above you are pointed the other way.

Or pay attention to the color of the lines:
yellow = opposing direction of traffic

this happens all the friggin time at the trenton train station in NJ. by all the friggin time, i mean like i've seen it once a month for the last year.

for some reason, idiots who pull out of the station think it's a one way street and go on the other side of TWO YELLOW SOLID LINES, blocking oncoming traffic.
I corrected one person that pulled up next to me on the oncoming traffic lane only to have him flip me off and call me a fggot.

His left tail light is probably his turn signal, and the picture was taken between flashes.
the light was burned out.

i think i'm an idiot but that is a 2 way street correct?

It is indeed a two way street. The truck ahead of me and I (green) were sitting in a forced turn lane, The van (red) is parked directly infront of oncomming traffic. I drew out his presumed path.

Its so bizzare because the street has painted arrows showing forced turn. There is even a sign (which cant be seen in the photo) that gives a diagram of the forced turn.

Luckilly for him there were no people wanting to turn down that way (Blue or Purple). Pink has a free flow turn.

This intersection is on the edge of town, hence no buildings and (thank goodness) less traffic.

it may seem obvious to some, but that intersection looks pretty awkward to me. in MA, it would almost certainly be 2 lanes in each direction with a double yellow.
