Floyd can't even beat an old white guy using the internet how is he going to be the greatest athlete in America?
I have to agree with White, they keep making fights no one gives a shit about. I watched boxing from Europe the other night featuring a 37-3 fighter v. 1-8 fighter. I generously call the meat bag a fighter, because he didn't throw 20 strike the entire fight, which he lost on TKO in the 3rd or 4th. Another with heavyweights that was as equally mismatched.Originally posted by: KMFJD
A boxer, who is in denial that his sport is in serious decline.
Because the man is keeping him down! :|Originally posted by: Atomic Playboy
Yeah, let's think of some famous boxers... Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Oscar de la Hoya... nope, not white guys. Rocky Marciano and Jack Dempsey also spring to mind, but that was over 50 years ago. Since when has being a white boxer been a recipe for success?

Butterbean is white and way bigger than Mayweather.
How can you know Agassi and not Sampras? He played at the same time Agassi did, hit #1 about two years prior, and had 14 grand slam titles to Agassi's 8. They're both in the top 3 of all-time leaders in earnings in the sport, behind only Federer, the other guy you don't know.Originally posted by: bobross419
Pete Sampras - Heard of him, but don't know anything about athletic ability
Andre Agassi - Know as a great athlete
Roger Federer - Who?

Great fighter in the ring, but a jackass on par with Kanye West outside of it. I hope Marquez kicks his ass.

While we have a while's to go race/equality wise, we're no longer in the early 1900s where America was searching for the great white hope to take down Jack Johnson.
The biggest athletes stardom wise in recent memory are Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, etc..
In fact the only really popular white athletes I can think of are Tom Brady and Peyton Manning--but still the ones people generally want to watch the most are Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss, TO (love him or hate him), and LT2.
Even though Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki have won MVPs in the NBA, they don't have anywhere near as much marketability as the NBA players I listed above.
I'm not a big sports fan, so I'll chip in here:
Michael Jordan - Know as a great athlete
Tiger Woods - Know as a great athlete
Lebron James - Know as a great athlete
Kobe Bryant - Know as a great athlete
Shaq - Know as a great athlete
Tom Brady - who?
Peyton Manning - heard of only because I watched last year's superbowl
Adrian Peterson - who?
Randy Moss - who?
TO - Amazingly enough I know this is Terrell Owens - Know as a great athlete
LT2 - who? Isn't that an old corvette engine or something? lol
I'd have to agree with OP
Steve Nash - who?
Dirk Nowitzki - who?

Hummm, he's 39 and 0 and the only people he hasn't faced who are worth a shit have lost to fighters who Floyd would own. Manny has the best chance, but not good enough. Manny has lost before, and will lose again. Floyd has shown no weakness at all except for having fragile hands. Which haven't effected his ability to dominate whoever he fights. The only way he won't see 41-0 is if he retires after he wins tonight. The fact he's a jackass has no baring on on the fact he one of the greatest boxers ever.

Manny destroyed hatton and de la hoya, Mayweather didn't. Mayweather will lose his 41st pro fight, which will be against Manny...unless he continues to duck him tho.

You seriously need to hand in your mancard and it's KNOWN not KNOW.
Er, you don't need anything even remotely close to a vast knowledge of sports to know the names in the post you quoted. The fact that you even try to make such a comparison tells me you either have an agenda or are projecting.Originally posted by: JeffreyLebowski
I've found that most men that have vast knowledge of sports do that as an attempt to make themselves look more manly because they are whipped by their wives or are trying to hide homosexual tendencies.
