Hmm I have been in Atlanta a few times. It was so congested never got to witness people driving over the speed limit.

Yes and without checking I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of these sheriff’s offices are cash starved. Georgia is legendary for having like 9 million counties and I imagine each one has its own sheriff’s office so you’ve got huge duplication of administration I imagine.

Hmm, I actually just read into this and Georgia had to pass a law trying to rein in excessive ticketing because the local cops there were going bananas on it.
From Brunswick to Kings Bay on 95 was one of the worst speed traps in the US until they finished 95. Of course we're talking like 25 years ago. But that area was notorious.

I don't know why but the only thing i took away from her video was that "being in handcuffs is really hard to use snap chat". I did chuckle at that. But more in a "we live in a sad world" kind of way.

Doubt it. In fact unless it was a new car or a lease that you paid/are paying a lot for, I'd probably write it off as a loss. I would not even want to step foot back there in case they find some other excuse to detain me again. I wonder if insurance could help in a case like this though, if you explain the situation and say you fear for your safety wonder if they'd send an agent to go pick it up or write it off or something, and you just have to pay a deductible. Have to consider the travel costs of having to go back too. So if you can pay someone else to do it or whatever, or if it's a used car and you can buy another for a couple grand it might be worth just swallowing those costs. Either way it's an all round crappy situation. Stories like this, and watching shows like border patrol make me really not want to partake in any kind of international travel especially not to the states.

Every time I've traveled overseas, or gone over the Canadian or Mexico border, the biggest assholes are always our own customs agents.

She got the car back when she paid the impound fee.

Not likely. Police are limited to their municipality where a Sheriff is not. With so many municipalities its easier to have sheriffs. FL does the same thing.
Honestly what they need to do is just eliminate about half of the counties in the state and consolidate them as Georgia has 159 counties! In contrast, California has 58 counties despite having four times the population and almost three times the land area.

Why not have a state police and the bigger cities get their own departments..

I take it she was pulled over for driving slow? People say all the time that if you're driving 5mph over the speed limit in Georgia you're a danger for driving so much slower than the rest of traffic.
Can confirm. If she was driving the speed limit she'd have likely either been shot by a motorist or ran over by someone with a jacked up F350.

The officer attempts to intimidate the driver who has a valid Canadian license as well as proper identification and insurance. Ultimately the officer is illegally attempting to intimidate and bully the driver into leaving Beverly Hills. Additional, when the driver files a report against the officer he shows up outside the Police precinct/office to further intimidate saying that the driver was upstairs crying.
