This is why Newegg sucks....

I got bored at work yesterday and was looking for a bluetooth watch. No real reason other than I was bored. My buddy sitting next to me found the Sony display thing that looked pretty sweet. I found it on sale at Newegg with free shipping so I ordered it immediately. Then I realized there were no reviews. That's weird because newegg always has reviews.

So I hit up amazon and found reviews. All bad. All very bad. Well shoot. So I livechat with newegg (I work in a call center so I can't call out) and they tell me that they can't help since its a marketplace item. They did give me the email to the place that actually sold it. I shot off an email and waited.

2 hours later I got the email confirming that my order had been charged, then another saying it shipped. Nice. I tried to fix it but it looked like I was going to have to learn a $70 lesson on impulse shopping. That really sucks. But at least Newegg's RMA is great, so I might have to pay some shipping.

Then just now I get an email from Newegg letting me know that my order had been cancelled and refunded!

Why does Newegg suck? Because they gave me no reason to no longer impulse shop there. Scamming bastards

I hate how they make you contact them to cancel after your card has been charged, but the item isn't anywhere close to being shipped. It only leave like a window of a few minutes to cancel.

Discipline - do not allow yourself to try to request a RMA

I havent actually used newegg for shopping in years. Its just a search engine before I hit up Amazon to close the deal.

If you get lucky and can return without issue, more power to you.
But Amazon always takes good care of me.

Amazon works really well for me. If Amazon doesn't carry it then Newegg is usually the best bet.

Plus Amazon does not charge tax for me and Newegg does.

Everytime someone is hating on newegg it's almost always some BS reason. I've still had very few problems with them, and done a lot of business with them over the past 10 years. They're probably not as great as they once were, they got big and popular. But, I still wouldn't hesitate to order something from them.

Is there a way to turn off marketplace items in newegg? My last order (this week) was a mess also, I bought 6 items, they created 6 different orders for it, all being shipped at different times (and probably from different vendors). If I wanted to deal with this, I would just go to Amazon or Buy.com and save money.

You're buying from a marketplace seller and blaming Newegg?
