No, the seeds have everything that soya beans have PLUS things soya beans lack.

The worlds hunger problems could be solved using pot seeds.

(But like soya products, you STILL have to convince people to eat them...)

Yep. Hemp is better for paper, no need to destroy forests, but then how would logging companies make money? Better for clothes, but then how would cotton planters make money?
The US Constitution was written on hemp.

John Adams to John Hancock: "hey, are you gonna sign that thing or smoke it?"

😀

Hemp products (rope, cloth etc) have long been regarded as excellent products. Hell I used to have some hemp rope and the like, when they were available here. Most people associate marijuana with the smoking not the rest of it.

It is the healthiest plant for human consumption

Why do I have a hard time believing this?

See the last two posts above this one. 😛

Edit: Bah.. Okay, the last two posts before the one before this one. 🙂

I figured someone would come back with something like "you're brainwashed, of course you don't believe." Are you telling me you truly believe that marijuana is the healthiest plant for human consumption? I'm not saying its as bad as most people make it out to be, but I still have a hard time believing there isn't something more healthy out there.

He's just trying to mak a point. There are very few things that are as nutritious, though. The only thing that comes to mind is Wheat Grass..

I think everybody would rather munch on some hemp seeds, rather than juice up some wheatgrass.

I think in the context of the paragraph that sentence, they mean human material (not food) consumption.

Read it again, that may be the case. But it does go on to talk about it's fat content.

I've know all this for years.

It makes me SICK that the government. refuses to acknowledge the truth. Making it legal to grow hemp would also stop the deforestation that runs rampant around here.

If you do a search about hemp, you will find that it was Dow that forced the law through back in the 30's. Why? To artificially create a need to their new "wonder fiber". You will also find a lot of political families had a hand in it as well, for their own financial reasons.

On thing not mentioned in this article is that for a long time in our history (the US) it was illegal NOT to grow at least SOME hemp on your farm. It was needed THAT much. Also, there were propaganda films produced by the US Gov. during WWII to try and get more farmers to grow hemp. "Join the war effort. GROW HEMP!"

And yet the government. manipulates the facts, and history it's self for there own selfish reasons. AND to keep the general public more inline with their agenda. (Read they don't want us laid back and peaceful. Which is one of the effects they found POT had on the nations youth)

Ding! Ding! Teh winnar.

You people that say you have a hard time believing it.. Why? It's not that far of a stretch, IMO. Think about it.

This has happened multiple times in our history. The same thing happened with Alcohol and Gasoline in the 30s. We all know who won that battle. :frown:

It all boils down to the fact that it's a wonder-plant. It is threatening to other established industries because you can produce so many different things from the one source, and it is very highly renewable.

Along with other staple food groups(corn, wheat, misc. vegetable seeds), everybody should have hemp seed in their survival kits.

It would be invaluble if, for any reason, you needed to live off the land.

I believe it, but it doesn't matter. The problem is that the majority of marijuana supporters do not seem to care about these reasons. All they seem to care about it toking up. That's fine as far as that goes, but it isn't very likely to get marijuana legalized. Marijuana is represented by Cheech and Chong, and most marijuana supporters do nothing to dispell that belief (not on this board, but in general from the people I've met). All we need is some rational, non-stoner people who lobby for marijuana for non-drug applications.

I'm not saying it's bad, even as a drug. In fact I believe the facts indicate the opposite. But "we want to smoke our weed" is not going to make legalized marijuana a reality.

You can't argue with the facts sun fo show 😉

Anyway this is the truth he speaks
The reason it's not legal because it's hard to tax. It's too easy to grow there for it would be out of there control for taxation🙁. Beer an such is easy to control (tax)even know it's more of a hazard. this is just imho. never mind of all the other uses for cannabis

Elect liberals by wide margins and they will legalize pot. Frauds like Clinton vote against legalization because the Republicans and their Christian anti joy no fun till heaven crowd would crucify them if they moved to legalize. It's a giant joke but the conservatives will play politics with any attempt to legalize. They run their usual fear trips, Drugs are evil. Terrorists make money from drugs, speaking of which legalization would probably put a crimp in CIA funding.

I've actually known quite a few conservatives and conservative pot smokers, so the issue doesn't fall neatly along those ideological grounds. Now, if you want to legalize pot, you should have voted for Harry Browne. He was the only sane and intelligent one running for prez in the last election.

There is no world-wide shortage of rope..

Marijuana should be more illegal than it is now. And it will be, which I think is a good thing.

Marijuana should be more illegal than it is now

It is almost legal in most western states.
The city of Santa Cruz gave out "trees"-(budds) on the steps of city hall.

Someone hit it right on the head earlier, it is all a money issue.

It is so easy to grow that it would be impossible to tax.

Give it ten more years and it will be legal.

Any budds thats not green bud (cronic) should be illegal.

[gets on soapbox]

Attention everyone!

HEMP IS NOT MARIJUANA

It is a different plant in the same family...it has only trace amounts of THC. You'd have to smoke a joint the size of a telephone pole to get high on hemp. You can literally make anything out of the hemp plant including fuel, clothes, paper, and soap and it's completely ridiculous for it to be banned.

Thanks for listening. Please share this info with anybody who'll listen.

Of course it's ridiculous. But Americans don't give a damn, just like every other issue.

Because people are sheep. It's easier not to think for yourself, and people are just plain lazy.

Walking reason why it SHOULD'NT

-PAB

I don't get it... What does that have anything to do with Hemp or Marijuana being illegal? And those attacking legalization on this thread aren't giving any explanations why they think it should be illegal... I read plenty of reasons why it should be legal but I got nothing but "I won't believe it" type statements. Someone was right on when they said that a majority of people would rather be force fed ideas instead of thinking for themselves. They just regurgitate what they saw on TV. If I grow some cron in my back yard does that make me a terrorist? Come with some reasoning behind your statements and I'll listnen...
