same thing happened to my neighbor when i was in high school... he had his cousin on the back at the time, both flew over the handlebars. my neighbor got pushed down by his cousin flying over him, something on the handlebars caught his sac and ripped it open. they had to search the street for his left one, but it wasnt able to be reattached (reinserted?) for some reason. he sold his bike after that.

Similar thing happened to my cousin when he was much younger, only it was on a bicycle. He had been messing with the handlebar height and didn't get them lined up straight with the front wheel. He decided to ride anyway but for some reason needed to look down and watch the wheel to see if he was going straight. Ran smack into the back of a parked and unoccupied car and split his sac open on the handlebar nut (who says the universe doesn't have a sense of humor).

The way he tells it, nothing fell out, and there are no witnesses to say for sure. He did need stitches though and he was walking funny for a few weeks. He's got a kid now though, so either there was no damage or his mailman has been busy. 😛

Actually I have a scar from my accident. About an inch and a half on my scrotum. That and my wife only has one ovary.
Yet a little alcohol, business trip to New Orleans, and very good usage of all the furniture in the room and here comes?

For all of you who say this is why they watch their mirrors constantly, would you really have had any time to do something in this instance? They said she didn't even see the motorcycle until contact was made, so I'm assuming the negligent driver didn't even slow down. I don't know what kind of speeds we're talking about, but if you're sitting at a dead stop and someone is coming up on you going 35-45MPH, it seems to me like by the time you realized they were stopping, it would be too late to get out of the way.

So, what you're saying is that you still ride, just not motorcycles. 😉

Also, adorable kid. 🙂

You really can;t do much IMO. The driver that pulled out in front of me did not even hit his brakes until i made contact with his suv. I leaned right to go around him and then hit my brakes but still made contact.

Also it was a warm sunny day and i was on my Shadow VT700 (mid size crusier) that had flame sticker on the fron, crome wheels, and black body. So it stood out to anybody paying attention.

My dad went THROUGH the side of a mina-van and ended up with his head stuck under one of the rear seats. The FD had to cut the roof and door out to remove him as they feared he would have damage and be paralized. He was fine, for the most part. The funny thing was the idiot woman that pulled out in front of him was worried about her new van when they started to cut it apart. When the FD was done it looked more like a sled then a van. 🙂

Well I have a kid now, so the only thing I am allowed to ride is my lawn mower. 🙁

Oh and can anybody tell what 2 races he is? Even my wifes friends ask is he REALLY hers. 🙂

If the guy was riding a man's motorcycle like a Harley, the bitch's car would've bounced back 2 blocks. Too bad he was riding a sissy Honda bike that can't take a hit.

The Lake County State's Attorney's office said this morning it's looking into criminal charges against a woman who this weekend allegedly was painting her fingernails as she drove and fatally struck a stopped motorcyclist.

"We are looking into charges in the case," said Assistant State's Atty. Patricia Fix, "but we are waiting for results of blood and urine tests and waiting for the results of an accident reconstruction, as well as any other technical evidence we can derive from the scene."

Authorities say Anita Zaffke, of the 1500 block of Eddy Lane in Lake Zurich, stopped at the intersection of Route 12 and Old McHenry Road at around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, as the traffic light turned from green to yellow.

The driver of a Chevrolet Impala behind Zaffke, Lora Hunt, 48, of Morris, told police "she was painting her nails as she drove and did not see [the motorcycle] until contact was already made," according to a Lake County Sheriff's Department incident report.
Zaffke, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown a distance from her Honda motorcycle, according to Lake County Coroner Dr. Richard Keller. Her son, Greg, said this morning his mother was also wearing a bright yellow cycling jacket.

"It appears to be a tragic accident and it appears [Zaffke] did nothing wrong," Lake County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott Morrison said Sunday. "She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and she could not have done anything to avoid it."

Zaffke died about an hour after the crash at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Keller said. An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.

Hunt was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She could not be reached for comment this morning.

ok so she was PAINTING her nails and killed the person on the bike. Hopefully they charge her with MURDERand she NEVER gets her license back again. not to mention the civil suit that takes eveyr fucking thing she owns.

i get pissed when i see people texting, putting on makeup or such. hell one time i seen a guy shaving! WTF i was so tempted to cut him off and see if he cut himself heh.

This is why I don't plan on riding street:

Single vehicle but with 18-wheeler

Happened yesterday. Guy probably locked his breaks, went down, but slid under a truck. Now he'll probably be missing parts of his legs and hand(s). I'm not really afraid of going doing doing 200 Kmh on a track, but behind run over by a truck scares the hell out of me. Now to find some dirt trails...

Seems like that was more his fault then anything from the peice.

Riding a motorcycle can be fun and also save on gas. But you have to be mindfull of everything. Not only other drivers but road conditions and your ability.

Get her for manslaughter at the very least, maybe murder in the second degree. Sure as hell never let her drive again.

i like this part of the article...
"There should not be a criminal penalty affixed to a simple 'negligent' mental state," said Steve Baker of the Illinois Bar Association's criminal justice committee.
is he kidding? somebody fucking died!
around here, there's a lot of squids and right-hand passers and i have no sympathy for those riders...
but, when someone is sitting at a red light and gets mowed down, something more than a slap-on-the-wrist fine is really in order. WTF is there to even mull over? :|

yes, like i said i have been in that situation. i was watching my mirrors, saw the car coming up behind me and not slowing so i popped clutch and leaned right, put myself in front of the car to my right. at that moment the car passed me and locked up the brakes, sliding into the intersection. luckily it was empty at the time. ive avoided many accidents both on my bike and in my truck by watching the mirrors and surroundings. one time i avoided one, but the stupid kid delivering pizzas in the lane right next to me slammed into a car that pulled out in front of us. it hurt his case that i was next to him and was able to stop, he got partial fault. he was pissed lol.

well ya, when people pull in front of you theres less chance of avoiding that than there is sitting still and watchign whats happening around ya.

i had was riding my cb750 in a clear lane about to stop at a red light when it switched to green, the lane i was in had no traffic but there were 7 cars in the left lane. one guy 2 cars up decided he didnt want to wait and pulled into my lane. i locked up thhe back tire by accident, hit him at an angle on the passenger side qp and slid all the way to the front tire. luckily i had engine bars, 20" tall leather boots and jeans on. the peg cut his car all the way from bumper to front wheel too, was funny. i didnt drop the bike, wiggled a bit against the curb and kept it up. he didnt even look to see if the lane was clear. you can hear my bike for about 5 blocks, even with a stereo loud. im also very visible in the lane, so he was just lazy.
