Where do I get the latest file with the "definitions" to use with Firefox Adblock? I used to update it regularly, now I lost the URL

There's a new extension (well, new to me) on Mozilla Update called AdBlock Filterset.G Updater that updates itself every few days.

I use a hosts file to block most ads. I really like Firefox though, just little things like tabs and the fact that I can hold down shift and then press left or right arrow to change a text selection. There have been so many times when I used to use IE that I've selected a block of text but was off by one character and had to reselect the whole thing.

Enjoy those luxuries while you can. Pretty soon it'll be illegal to fast forward through the advertisements at the beginning of DVDs.

While I don't care for the ads...

-from a design standpoint, there placement isn't perfect, but they help lay the content out better... breaking things up that seem to run together and helping to "chunk" the information being presented. In the ad-free firefox screen you showed, there is way too much freaking text for me to know where the hell to start reading.

-they support the site whose content you get for free. The sheer fact that you never click on them does NOT imply that the advertisement is ineffective. Exposure to a name, idea, theme, or any other information conveyed in an ad is, whether you like it or not, being processed by your brain. You don't have to click on an ad to make it effective.

^ just because they're getting rid of the sponsor ad, it doesn't make Opera the best. It's more like a... ok now we can try it... first thing I'll be looking for is mouse gestures.. can't surf quickly without those...

They're pretty much the same as FireFox. Anything you can't find let me know :)
