Man, had to post this story here. Short and sweet:

1.) yanked my ATI9600XT out of working system, inserted 6800GT
2.) system wouldn't boot past IDE config... WTF
3.) Called eVga, held for 20 minutes, no pickup. Called back, closed. 5:30pm PST.
4.) reinserted 9600XT with same result
5.) called Asus. 3 minutes on hold. Dude walked me through the fact that my bios reset and both my raids jumbled in the process. 2 minutes later, I was rocking. All this on a Friday at 6:30PM PST.

Asus, you have my business now and always. (you've always had it, but you will always get it).

I honestly have never heard 1 good thing about Asus and their support.

?? Asus is like #1 computer HW manufacturer in the world with ECS right behind them. Asus's technical support has its ups and downs but i would say it is pretty good.

Asus owns period. Also I once got a used/returned/not in that great of shape, Asus board and its worked like it was brand new...

This is probably figured out volume-wise, right? With Fry's pimping disposable ECS motherboards ("buy a CPU, get a free motherboard") no wonder ECS cranks out so many.

Asus support is really good. When trying to set up my SATA HD, they walked me through the entire process, and I was absolutely thrilled. Good boards, good support, reasonable prices--couldn't ask for more.
