We used Netflix for about a year and really liked it, but the movies took a couple days to get. I just signed up for a free trial of blockbuster online, and it shipped about a day faster. Is this normal? Hmm.

Overall, i liked the Netflix site a lot better, but this was a nice surprise.

Anyone else have this happen?

did you search for netflix and throttle?

throttle - is the mechanism by which the flow of a fluid is managed by constriction or obstruction. but in this case... dvds

when netflix was throttling, as far as I know, it was only people who rented a ton of new release movies.

I've been with Netflix for like 2-3 years now and have never experienced anything close to it.

their throttling policy does not effect how soon they ship to you after they get your movie, but rather (as i understand it) how likely you are to get the first movie in your queue if its a popular title.

i go through A LOT of netflix dvds in a month, i get put on a very long wait for any new release, but i *always* get my movies very quickly.

you guys might be right, maybe no warehouse close by.

we have a netflix warehouse in the same city. and i got throttled when i was going thru dvds very fast. but lately, i don't watch them as fast. with work i don't pay attention to how fast i get them anymore.

where did the movies come from? for me Netflix only takes a day or less whereas Blockbuster would always take 2 days or more.
