I dunno. I mean, a properly raised Pit Bull that is full-blooded can be a great family pet. However, the issue that comes into play is most Pit Bulls available are inbred, so it's really important to have documents of a Pit Bull's lineage.
Me, I'd rather have a REAL 'pit bull', the English Bull Terrier, which has a temperament that outclasses most other breeds.

Hold pet owners legally responsible for the actions of their pets and this whole argument would go away. Pit bull owners/defenders would no longer have to drone on and on about how it's the owner's fault that the dog was vicious, and the people who are (apparently) responsible for things like this happening would be punished accordingly. If you cause your pet to act in a particular way, I don't see how that is any different from if you did the deed yourself.

We wouldn't have anything to discuss if these fucking pitbulls would stop killing things.

they wouldent kill things if people stopped breeding them to be mean and fight (Vick), there are plenty of well behaved pits out there, the prob is you dont hear about the nice ones, you only hear about the neglectfull owners who get them because it makes them seem tough and them something goes wrong

I'd say....

We should have one week to hunt pit bulls. Even if they're chained up in someone's back yard!

Beat that animal-activists!

Would someone drowning a pit bull get the same reaction as someone drowning a cat?

Of course!

Channel 5 reports:

"Poor defenseless Pitpull, only 12 years of age with one last thought in its head of being a pup sucking on its mothers tit, drowns today. The owner, with a history of verbally assaulting deaf - mutes working at cash registers and refusing to stop for school buses, sad he was unaware of his lack of ability to take care of a dog."

Rotts are not aggresive by nature, they were bred to be work animals. Extremely subservient to their master, great disposition and temperment. They are one of the most widely chosen therapy dogs for working with children in hospitals.

Poor breding, training, and irresponsible owners are the cause for this breed to act out of character and attack people. You could train a poodle to be an attack dog but it should be obvious why larger breeds such as Rotts and Pits are used for that purpose.

Just a quick search but many states do hold the owners liable, as they should be.Texas,
Utah.

Disagree, though it'd certainly be cheaper & easier than teaching every prospective Pit owner to be a responsible Pit owner.

Especially considering that most owners are low class trash that want a "macho" dog. The owners are as much the problem as the breed.
