Spellsteal takes a buff off of someone else and gives it to you.

He is spellstealing a mob that has a buff that does AOE damage periodically, something like 60dmg normally which is insignificant.

The problem is the buff recieves a +100% bonus from his +damage with spells gear. This takes the relatively harmeless spell and makes it 777dmg per tick...

Even worse, the buff stacks up to 6 times, so he just piles them up and runs into zergs, doesnt even have to cast anything, and kills them all in seconds just by standing near them.

I used to play WoW. Allow me to explain.

Spellsteal allows you to take another creatures spell, and use it yourself. This guy took a gnoll(?)'s spell of fire shield. It normally does 50 dmg every second to surrounding people.

He has enough +spell damage equipment to equal about +650 dmg, and the fire shield spell gets 100% of that damage added.

Basicially, everyone around him takes 700+ damage per second. Pretty much rigged.

Edit: beat to the punch :(

So...instead of calling for a nerf...why not a

"fix this obvious bug"...

.... I'm just saying..

It's not broken PvP, its a bug exploit :p

Edit: Not you, the google video guy :p

I think he said that kind of tongue in cheek, the kneejerk reaction to anything that powerful is nerf the class / ability rather than fix whatever bug.

eh, i'm not impressed. clever to figure it out, but not as skillful as some of the stuff paladins would pull on the stealth zergs in daoc.

I played DAOC extensively, i never saw a paladin solo 15 people :p

I was in a guild that loved hunting the stealth zergs at gates though.

Old Paladin reckoning was better. Within half a second you make 5 hits, each with a chance to critical, on a really slow 2h weapon with uber damage per hit (plus some sort of seal that would increase damage of course). If that doesn't kill them instantly, stun and then judge.

Modern paladins can't do it anymore, but there are some really cool older videos. There's one of a paladin hanging out around the undead capital of Undercity just destroying people who show up.

best thing i ever did as a paladin was ninja keeps. 7 paladins on the front door, minstrel with a ram on the 2nd door, everyone guarding everyone else, everyone double tapping heal chant. not a single guard killed before the keep fell. i can imagine alliance chat when those things fell.

Probably the most overpowered thing is it looks like its ticking during ice block... (Ice block makes you immune to all attacks, the trade-off being you can't attack either... theoretically).

I played a mmo called shadow bane. There were a couple of elite items *They were dupped alot* one was a 1 handed axe. It would hit 4 times for every swing. Swings were about 1-2 seconds. The highest char in that game has maybe 12k life. The axe hit for 700-900 each swing. You get the idea.

We used to do unupgraded/unclaimed keeps with a duo, minstrel would charm a pet, we would stand out behind the keep where you could F8 til you targetted the leader, send the pet up, and id spread heal it when needed, took about 5 minutes, and beause you didnt kill any guards or break any doors, there was no warning at all.

They finally fixed it with new frontiers, but we did it for months.
