I was reading the off-beat local news online today, and came accross this gem:
The hanky panky on the playground at Peterson Elementary School in Klamath Falls may have been as innocent as hand-holding or as stolen as a kiss.

Whatever happened, it was enough for sixth grade teacher Mary Bond to lay down the law to her students last week: there would be no talking between boys and girls.

The ban was ultimately lifted, but I just have to scratch my head and wonder, WTH? I've heard of clothing bans, language bans, a nd device bans, but this is the first time I've ever heard of a straight-out talking ban in recent history. Did I step through some sort of time warp and not know it?

Way back when I was in elementary school, talking in class wasn't allowed at all. They should be glad they can socialize within their own gender. :)

Being here as long as you have and seeing the things that get posted here I'd think you wouldn't be surprised by stuff like this anymore.

Seriously dude, people are weird, get over it. :p

Unless I'm reading the article wrong, this is on the playground, lunch, etc; they aren't allowed to talk to the other gender then.
