This has to be the wierdest post I have ever come across. I have that motherboard, that processor, and that memory. I paid $329 for the memory, though, at Fry's.

Don't forget that the 915/925 chipsets have built in overclock locks, altough Abit does have a work around for it, you may not be able to overclock as much as you want. That memory is twice as expensive as the 1 gig of PC4000 ddr(ddr500) I am using to run my 2.8@3.5 on an 865 chipset.

not to mention DDR2 isnt exactly faster than regular DDr. I think its a pointless idea when youv got a great system now. P4 wouldnt keep up witht yours

Yup, I'll second that. Intel has its advantages, but they certainly don't outweigh the cost of that upgrade.

ok, a lot of u don't understand what i mean, i don't have the everything in my sig yet, that's y i'm asking what u guys think

DDR2 has worse timings than regualr DDR, but for intel it's not a big deal, timings r more of a factor in AMD systems, now 402 bux is not that much more than the 315 dollar RAM in my sig, plus the RAM is extremely fast, 600 w/e mhz is beastly, and someone has gotten that CPU/mobo to 4 GHZ b4

now this is actually cheaper than the AMD system in my sig, so idk y u guys say AMD is cheaper when it's jus the outdated AXP series that's cheaper, i'm talking either A64 or Intel LGA775

and sasha how is that system working for u?

if you are goin 775 why get a 3.0 when u can get the same setup for much cheaper on a 478. im just trying to say that you are not getting much bang for your buck. if i were buying right now i would go with a a64 3200 or 3400 on a nforce 3 250gb board

im sorry if we offended you but they are just being honest. that setup would cost you at least 1300, and would give you absolutely no advantage over a 3.0c, say a asus p4c800, a gig of pc 4000 and a x800xt or 6800gt/ultra. not only that but there have been mixed results ocing on the 915 and 925 boards. if you really want a nice pcie setup wait, and see what nvidia has to offer with the nforce 4 boards that are supposed to come out in the near future. the real advantage of pcie (at this time) would be an sli setup using dual 6800s which isnt even possible with current intel boards. if you have to buy now go with a 3400 or a 3500.
