Hello. Do you guys know is there any different between the OCZ value ram from newegg and atacom?
They have the same part SN: OCZ4001024WV3DC-K

It seems thought newegg marks it to have timing of 2.5-3-3-8
Though the product image in newegg shows 2.5-3-3-7 label sticked on it; identical to the one anandtech review used.
The atacom has an image showing the ram with a label 3-4-4... which is bothering me.
I know the link to atacom is posted by many many people saying that's the value ram series that can boost up to 250Mhz with 2-2-2-5 timings with about 3.5V... The product image of atacom is really confusing.

Also it seems the dies of the ram chips for the ram in newegg is unmarked with OCZ logo, again same as the one anandtech reviewed.

So I wonder, although they have a common part number, are they actually different reversion of ram? The one in newegg is much more expensive... I don't know which one to opt for.

Edit: People who bought a pair from atacom or newegg please advice

i think it just depends on your luck. Last time I bought ram from newegg, its timings were faster than what was posted on the website (pleasant surprise).

I looked at OCZ's website, and they don't list OCZ4001024WV3DC-K. They do have one that matches your specs though, and it's OCZ4001024V3DC-K (note the lack of the W).

The OCZ4001024V3DC-K is rated the same as atacom's website 3-4-4-8

The W probably signifies faster timings. There's a review with OCZ4001024WV3DC-K, and it specified 2.5-3-3-7

It could be that some sites selling OCZ4001024WV3DC-K, used the description for the OCZ4001024V3DC-K

From official sources, W stands for winbound UTT chips, which is much better.
Both atacom and newegg has the "W" with their parts number...

I don't understand either why the website has no info on it.
