It's wrong, but it's not "sick". On some levels, she did not percieve him as a kid, but as a person who cared about her in a way that transitioned into something much like a normal sexual relationship between two adults. She was not attracted to him *because* he was a kid, like would be the case with a pedophile.

Remember, we're talking American culture here, where we have established an arbitrary boundary of age 18 (for the most part) for adulthood and for sexuality.
