All the countries will start with 'D' (unless you cheat), because any number (from one to ten) times nine has the property that it's digits add up to 9 (18, 27, 36, 45, etc..). Subtract 5 from that and you get 4, D.

The only countries starting with D are Denmark, Dominica, Djibouti, and the Dominican Republic. The most commonly remembered are Denmark and Domin. Repub. Given that, there are also very few animals whose letters start with 'k' or 'c' - kangaroo seems to come to mind first. And once you choose that, there are no fruits that I can think of starting with O other than orange.
