This is really weird....

Are you the 2% or 98% of the population?
Follow the instructions!
NO PEEKING AHEAD!
Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow.
There's no trick or surprise.
Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions
one at a time and as quickly as you can!
Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until
you've done each of them ...really.
Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).

Think of a number from 1 to 10

Multiply that number by 9

If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together

Now subtract 5

Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to
the number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c, etc.)

Think of a country that starts with that letter

Remember the last letter of the name of that country

Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter

Remember the last letterin the name of that animal

Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter

Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange?

Yea it guessed what I was thinking as well.

What are other countries that start with a 'D'?

What other fruits start with the letter 'O'?

I can't think of anything off hand. 😱

ok, wtf, I thought of the country Yemen and couldn't think of an animals name that began with "N" 🙁

Any number from one to ten multiplied by nine will yield a number who's digits will add up to nine.

1*9 = 9
2*9 = 18 1+8 = 9
.....

So after you subtract 5 everyone will have 4 at that point. From there on, it's just a matter of there not being many countries starting with D and then not many animals with K.

You think you have it bad, I couldn't think of any country that started with "d" off the top of my head. So I opened up Microsoft Bookshelf 2k and found the first country that started with D.

Which just happened to be Denmark. Dammit. 😱

No, it doesn't have to end up being 4. Pick 2 and it won't be. I don't how 98% could pick those 3 things...I didn't.

OK I'm on crack, 2 does up being 4.

He didn't say it had to be a whole number ... I could choose pi ... 3.1415926535897932384626433832795 😉

now sum that up 🙂

How many countries are there that start with a "D".
How many animals start with K.
I think it plays a nice game on the law of probability.

The test is working just fine. What's sad is some people are not getting '4' as the final number, lol.

This could very easily be modified to use any positive integer...

1) Think of any positive integer.
2) Multiply that number by 9
3) If the resulting number has more than one digit, continue to step 4. If not, skip to step 6.
4) Add the digits together.
5) If the resulting number has more than one digit, go to step 4. If not, continue to step 6.
6) Now subtract 5...
