There must be an app out there that disables the slide lock screen for the power button.

Since the power button is recessed and almost never pressed accidentially, requiring the slidw lock screen is one useless obstruction to using the phone.

then you have people bitching and moaning about how when in their pocking the phone is left to do things.

search for the app "no lock"

you can enable/disable the screen lock whenever you want.

This is also an option in Cyanogen 6. People still run stock on their Droid 1s?

yes. id say the VAST majority do. anyway to expand on my other post, CM and some other roms will let you do it, the 2 apps i posted will. some will let you change the "wake up" button to volume or camera among other things

personally i HATE home button lock bypass. its actually why i dont use lock 2.0. i like the idea of the ap but theirs no way to turn off home button lock bypass

lock 2.0 and widget locker allow you to unlock with the home button

Those don't help.

I need THIS button to go directly to home screen. Just like a Blackberry would.

NO LOCK screen plz.

All the other buttons that CAN be easily pressed in the pocket - Camera & Volume etc... should behave normally and go to lock screen.

The whole point of a lock screen (without a password) is to prevent accidental button presses activating the phone.

The power button is almost never an accidental button press. I

just Google "disable lock screen android" there is an app that does what you want

Why the hell do I want to disable the lock screen?

That's like saying let's just keep all the doors in the house unlocked because the owner needs to come home.

The doors need to be locked for everyone except the owner (Power button).

All other phones have? I can't think of a single phone that allows a single button to remain unlocked. You said the blackberries can do it but I never saw it when I had mine. You have an issue with something very few find annoying, and nearly all other phones don't offer either. Glad you found a solution, but don't pretend like it's a basic function.

Basic function on a Blackberry. ;)

All the buttoms except the recessed power button will activate the screen for a split second and ask for unlock sequence and then turn off very quickly (this is the lock screen). If you press the power button it will go straight to home screen.

It's really like having to tell someone to do something twice. Very annoying.
