All that picture says is that person has too much money and no personality.

Big time. Sure it's a nice HT, but who wants to watch movies in a boring place?

Who cares the lights are supposed to be dim anyway.

Here is mine The Avia setup disk recommends a red room for best viewing on a RP TV and lights behind the TV. I should get a pick of behind my cabinet it is nothing but a bunch of wires.

Apex, are those holes in the rack for running cables?

Whats that taste could become a new pwned picture...heh....

Very nice equipment btw. Apex, what kind of cables do you use? I hope you don't have that uber expensive $9,000 speaker cable or I may just have to drool a bit.

Yeah, they are. Much cleaner that way, but I'm not going to bother with that until the HT is finished. Running wires through there is kind of a pain, so I want to do it once and for all. Each glass shelf there holds up to 200lbs, except for the top and bottom ones, which can hold 300lbs each. Loaded with equipment, that thing is seriously heavy. I can't wait to be done with it all. My theater is a bigtime mess right now.

The cables are a mix. They're mainly audioquest though. There's some clear cables, bettercables, some silver stuff, some fiber optic DVI cabling, etc. All and all, it's less than $3000 worth of cabling.

And no, I didn't pay for the vast majority of it. :) I'm more of a video guy than an audio guy, so that's where I spent my money when I absolutely had to.

Nice setup. I wish I had that kind of space, but house prices are insane in the Seattle area so I'm still just renting an apartment.

Don't know if you know, but I bought my 3803...
Is it hooked up yet? I'm trying to decide between the 3803, 2803, or just being a cheapskate and getting something like a $275 JVC 8030 since I can't crank it up anyway :( .

lexicon?!? Dear lord...
Heh, actually, that's my old stuff. Don't have a picture of everything yet. Some new stuff Replaced that Lexicon MC-1 with an MC-8b. I like it a lot more, but I still need to play with it. The noise floor is really low, though part of that may be going to balanced in/out. The Panamax is actually the 5300. The monster is an AVS2000 voltage regenerator (don't have it anymore). The amp is the hernia inducing Adcom GFA-7807. It puts out roughly 600w per channel into all 7 channels at 4 ohm (all 7 of my speakers are 4 ohm), as long as you can feed it enough juice. I put in a couple dedicated 30amp lines, just in case. It's kinda funny, the amp comes in a huge wooden crate. What's that taste? The amp is pretty beefy. I've never heard the fans turn on. GFA-7807 innards. Sorry, big pict (350kb or so)
We used to have a great acronym for GFA ... Great Fcuking Amp..... hehehe....

That's actually the correct, official acronym. :)
What do you think of Parasound Halos? Thinking about saving some money and get that 7 channel amp for my system....

They're great amps, especially the JC1. That's one amazing amp for the price. Curl does some great work. I've never even heard of their 7 channel, so you probably know more about it than I do.

I've found their A series Halos to be less rolled off (less warm, some would say) than the classic Parasound line. This is especially apparent in their more powerful ones (A51 and A21). They're powerful, linear, and absolutely beautiful. If you can, use balanced inputs.

Of course, but imo, when switched to balanced, the only difference *I've* notice were an increase in decibel... I'd say about three, and there were more noise, if I increase the volume with the RCA inputs, then it sounds almost the same to me. The discernable differences are almost negligeable.

For my system, I would need the A-51, the A-21 and the C-2 (don't really care much for the C-1).....to properly drive all my speakers... :(
I would need another year for that to happen :( :( :( :( :( :(

EDIT: there were talk of a 7 channel amp, but I don't know if they're gonna go through with it... The idea was to match up with their controllers, but I guess they figure it would be tooooooo bulky and heavy
