This is possible? P4C chips running on e7205?

It should do the 200fsb without a problem. It is still a socket 478 cpu. I remember seeing a "800fsb preview" article using a mobile p4(low multi) and a bh7 at 200fsb with benchmarks. The 845 and granite bay chipsets I'm sure will run out of headroom much faster. Basically if you are going to buy a mobo go with the 865/875 choices. If you already have a 7205 board, order a 2.4c and give it a whirl!

I figured if anybody's done it, it was him so i looked for a thread on it... but no luck.

And 4x, I already have the p4g8x and i'm seriously considering doing just that. I already have pc3200 ram that's being wasted at 266.

Hi Stoneburner

See here - Text

Given that the"C" series run happily on stock-standard P4B533 boards, I'm sure [ as Tom demonstrated ] they will run just as happily on a Granite Bay board.

The *only* issue, as explained in the above asusboards link, is whether or not you can access a memory ratio divider such as 4:3 or 5:4 at high fsb settings.

Otherwise, if you just want to run a "C" series at stock, pop it in and way you go - it will work fine.

I dont think the p4g8x supports any memory ratio besides 1:1, but that doesnt 'bother me. I really need to try this out. What about mhz above 200? I know the board has listed frequencies up to 400, so I wonder if you can take it to around 215.

thanks for the link.
