This is odd... Klinux/dual CPU question

GeoffS

Lifer
Up until yesterday, my dual C366@550 on a GigaByte GA6BXD running Klinux from a boot floppy was a dual C366 (didn't have the right slotkets) and it was doing about 2Mkeys/sec. 19 hours ago, I changed the slotkets to allow the CPUs to run at 550@2.2v. I am now doing 1.9Mkeys/sec on that box. Both CPUs are running... WTF?!? Anyone seen this kind of behaviour before? At boot-up, both CPUs are identified as 550...

Thanks!

Have you tried any other benchmarks, like Sandra, to see if it sees the same kind of performance non-difference between OC and non-OC?

Russ- Yes.

I just noticed that I have the mobo jumpered to 400 or 450 instead of 550 😱 although the bios was identifying the chips as 550, so I don't think that will make a difference.. testing now!

I'm so embarassed... the jumpers did me in.. the sucker is cooking at 3.1Mkeys now...
