...but that still does not excuse the absolutely wretched disrespect you people are giving this guy. I am not a religious man, and I cannot even begin to understand what that man has or hasn't done in his life. That said, whether it was the Pope, as it is, or some crack whore from Jersey, I would either show them some respect or STFU. All disrespect shows is that we are perpetuating humanities shortcomings, defaulting to pestulance and mockery, riding the coattails of our idiotic media to no conclusive end.

Goosemaster, I'm not a religious person either, but I personally feel there is a lot more important things going on in the world that needs peoples attention much more than Schaivo & the Pope. They are but two human beings; what about the people who are dying in "The War on Terror,' the thousands of victims of the 2 recent tsunamis, etc.

I'm not a religious person, as is the OP, but religion has it's place in our society, that being said try your best to treat others as you wish to be treated. Given that he is the pope, I could care less, but given the fact that the media (both right-and-left winged portions of it) are televising the hell outta this, give the man some respect in his last hours(days maybe?)

Yes, the Pope has done many Noble things for people of this planet, but he has also not taken action in numerous scandals against children IMO. It's not the best comparison, but I view the Pope the same way I would view a CEO or General, he/she should take all responsibility for those under him, just my 2¢ 🙂

I thought the church did apoligize for that? I dont know for sure since I am not catholic and I really didnt follow the story much.

I really hate what those priests did. And if the pope did know about it, then he should have done something about it. But still, the guy is dying. Why should we talk bad about him now? I didnt see a thousand posts about him before. But now that he is dying he is fair game?

Thats just wrong. Grow some balls and pick on someone who can defend themselves.
