I don't know, 40 minutes before showtime for a midnight showing on a weekday. Does not seem to be sign to anything. However, going to the theatre 1 hour and 10 minuted in advance of a midnight showing on a week day, that's says something there for sure.

Read the rest of the posts.

Forgot to mention that it is also Spring Break, the kiddies aren't in school so there was a chance it would have higher traffic.

I thought Doomsday was pretty decent overall. But I will say, if you do not like gore, then do not go. The sick people are pussing up like a super nerdy acne break out while puking everywhere (in some scenes, not in all). One dude gets cooked alive and then eaten (which you get to see). Most deaths are fairly tame... arrow to the chest, arrow to the neck, slit throat, but there are a bit more such as beheading :p.

The movie was kinda predictable, but I'm not sure if that's a bad thing, because you really can't do much different in this movie. Of course, Rhona Mitra was smokin' in the movie and there was some other eye candy as well :p. I felt like I got more of my money's worth this past Friday seeing this movie than I did when I saw The Bank Job the Friday before that (and I only paid $6.50 for each... going before 4PM ftw).

I saw the trailer and thought it looked cool. I love the Mad Max movies and this kinda of looked like it was similar.

I saw it yesterday. Not bad at all. I like it more than Death Proof/28 Days. SPOILERS below.....

It is kinda like Mad Max plus King Arthur (yes folks dressed up/lived in as they in the 14th century for real)plus Escape from New York plus 28 Days plus hot babes (the good girl character is hot and the bad girl is not bad either). And yes, there was a cat fight scence in there but too short IMO and not enough boobies (only at the beginning...very brief).

The only thing I thought it was kinda odd was all of the bad guys/gals were in excellent shapes and looked great. I am as straight as the next guy but the bad guy leader upper body was great. I would kill to have an upper body like that.

It was $5.75 per ticket here, not the cheap sticky seat theater but Regal/Cinemark. Used to be $5 for first show a year ago.

Why was that odd? They wanted the closed off people to die.

Where did I say I saw a trailer?

I forked over $6.50 and found it entertaining.

It reminded me of that as well. The car chase at the end had some parts that were direct rip-offs from the one in The Road Warrior, but it was so blatant I would hope that it was meant as a tribute.

This virus doesn't turn people into zombies, vampires, et cetera. It is just very contagious and very lethal. If you survive, it modifies your fashion sense to that of a Punker, and your interpersonal relations skills to those of Alkemyst.

The main character and some other troops are sent over the wall to find out how the humans that are now showing up on the spy satellites survived, as the virus has now crossed the containment wall and if there is a cure, they need it.

The main character is a walking cliché. The hard-ass on the outside, tormented and grief-ridden on the inside type. Thankfully, they ignore that aspect once they get the plot set up, except for a brief moment near the end.

The movie is one of those where at times you're sitting there saying, "WTF, did they just do that?" Other times you are laughing because the violence is so over the top and ridiculous, as happens in zombie movies.

The car chase scene towards the end was definitely one of the more memorable in recent history. :D

Don't bother with this movie if you're expecting high drama. If you like Mad Max or Escape From New York movies with some degree of camp, you may like it. Regular action movie junkies may not, because of the lack of seriousness given to some aspects of it.

LOL....especially the last part!

personally did not enjoy the movie THAT much, seemed to comical....then ended up being a Bentley commercial at the end.

It really lacked the zombie type of scaryness that I was hoping for in this type of movie. I mean, Resident Evil, 28 days/weeks later, those type of scary virus movies.

you do not know that...nobody said the world was round, now it is. Nobody said we could get to the moon, now we did...granted these are dated examples, but you get the picture.

Except everything else easily outclassed it. Never saw a performance car be so lacking in performance before.

No, it would never be done that way. The Wall, I can accept, no people going to/from, sure, not even trying to meet the needs of the people stuck there, over the top. Some people were bound to survive, those people would be key to finding a cure.

The roads were nicely kept too, but I'm willing to overlook all these things for the sake of entertainment.

based on that review, i need to see this movie

If you go to a Regal Cinemas to see it, it is a non-starred attraction. I was able to use one of the discount red passes that cost $6.50 to see it, even though it was an after-matinée hours showing of a new movie.

How do you get a red pass?

The wife and I saw The Bank Job on Saturday at the local Regal and it was $10 per ticket, way to much IMO.
