well yeah it's graphic... but that's how any dead person would look after several days. You take someone who dies of a heart attack and snap a picture of them a few days after (without embalming) and that's what you'd see. I can see what they're trying to do, but that just looks like a dead girl to me. Could have been a brain aneurism, suicide, or toxic shock syndrome. Might be more effective to show what addicts look like while they're living. The pain of withdrawl and the needle track marks (a la Requiem For A Dream).

Hey though, I'm all for it if it keeps kids off of heroin. There's nothing beneficial about recreational use of opiates.

Yes, because it was the bad evil drug that led to her death, not herself

. Accept the responsibilities and risks when doing an addictive and dangerous drug like heroin. This is like someone accidentally stabbing themselves with a fork, and then blaming the fork.

wow, those pics are disturbing.

what i don't understand is why this thread was not deleted. i posted a thread a couple of weeks ago that had a link to a website about genetic and congenital birth defects. it was clearly labeled so as not to surprise anyone. for some reason one of the moderators deleted it almost immediately. it was much more defined in the subject line than this thread, and it was in no way more disturbing than this. i don't get it. i hate over moderation and not giving people the choice.

Do you think she accidentally shot herself up with heroin 900 times?

What are you talking about?

"Her body was discovered three days after she died."

Bodies older than this look a lot worse, BTW. It's a simple matter of decomposition.

Don't drop out of school or this could happen to you.

<< "..university drop-out.." >>

What was the point of putting that statement on the site. That is typical of the old "You better do as I say and not step out of line, or THAT could happen to YOU!" attitude, rather than talking to kids about how to solve life problems that are so prevelant.

Exactly. That's what they are implying. Couldn't they find a better way to describe her?

<< WOW

im never doing heroin... thats very scary
>>

No offense, but what did you think heroin did to you?

This really shouldn't be a "wake up call" to anybody. Anyone who doesn't already know--- ah screw it, no one listens. :(

I don't get why the heck it took people 3 days to find her in her own bedroom!!

Um, honey, are you going to come down for dinner tonight?? You haven't even been to the BATHROOM since Sunday!

-----------

Also, I agree with the guy who was complaining about over-moderation - but I won't comment anymore or my account will be overmoderated and I won't be able to come back for a few days.....grrrrrrrr
