Basically I get 30+ FPS on Diablo 3 when I plug in my charger HOWEVER if I don't charge and play I will get under 15FPS. WTF IS UP WITH THAT? I don't want to waste energy I want to save power :)
Is there a way to bypass this? My PC can handle Diablo 3 no problems.
MSI
i7-4800MQ 2.70Ghz
16GB RAM
GTX 770M
Samsung EVO 256GB
Windows 8

This never happened before until I reinstalled my OS :(
Really appreciate the help.

Sounds like some power saving deal kicking in and slowing down your video chipset...and possibly other components...to save electricity.

It's a power manager setting. If you get it fixed you will suck your battery dry in no time reaching for that 30+ FPS.

type 'power options' in your search bar (if you have Win7) and create/modify your existing power plan. Easy peasy! :)

"Fix" is relative. You can set it to let your GPU go full-bore even on battery power in the GPU settings and the windows Power settings. Your battery is going to last maybe 30 minutes tops though. The default behavior is what you're seeing now.

Just plug it in. If you change the settings and then play without the charger, the battery will die quickly.

If you want the game to run as you stated you do then you're going to have to play with the laptop plugged in...or else only play in 20-30 minute increments.

Or get whatever huge extended battery is available for your laptop. Then you might get and hour or so.

I know the feeling. If I want to do any gaming on my Precision M4700 I'd have to take the 5 pound nuclear reactor 210W power brick home with me.
