On June 6th I had surgery to help cure my sleep apnea. I had tonsils, adnoids, and uvula removed and my septum fixed. If you dont know, uvula (or uvala) is that punching bag thing in your throat! What it does is cover your sinus's when you swallow something. Now, when I swallow liquid, it sometimes comes out my nose! Thats real nice at work when I have wet spots on my chest from my nose dripping. Just now, I had a hersheys kiss in my mouth, bent over to load a box of paper in a printer and had chocolate coming out my nose!! I blew my nose and it was all chocolate! I guess if I am going to pick my nose......now is the time.

Ewwwwwwwww.

Were you warned of the side effects of your surgery beforehand? And, is there anything they can do to stop this inconvienience?

Are you sure they didn't take out more than they needed to ? :Q
My son had the same surgery for the same reasons and he doesn't have liquids freefalling from his nasal passage........ hmmmm maybe its an age thing and he just healed faster.
Odd 😉
Hopefully its just a passing phase. 🙂

had a friend with sleep apnea. he smoked, making things worse (duh!).
About 6 months ago he literally died in his sleep, stopped breathing. Luckily his brother noticed the prob, they worked on him at ER and brought him back. Sent him home with an oxygen tank and that plastic thingy in his nose. Docs told him it was genetic, should have "the operation". He hated doctors, refused op and kept smoking!! Two months later he died in his sleep for real.
Deal with the chocolate.

Bozo Galora I also lost a friend to sleep apnea. I am not complaining, Im just "sharing".
I guess it gets better with time, your body learns to shut off the sinus entrance, somehow. I could think of worse things coming out my nose than chocolate!

sometimes my posts are a little "stronger sounding" than I intend - i wan't putting you down, just mentioning the alternates are even less appealing.
