Mainichi Daily News and Weird Asia News report on Kegadoru, a Japanese fashion that can be spotted in the legendary Harajuku precincts, where fashion is ten years ahead of the rest of the world (and sometimes, ten dimensions over). Kegadoru ("injured idol") is the practice of wrapping your head and body in bandages as though you were badly injured. There's a stall in Camden Market in London that sells this stuff (here's my picture of their "No photos allowed" sign, which was the only part of the stall they let me photograph the last time I was there), and I've seen it in Tokyo as well.

Weird Asia News says that the trend is meant to appeal to the kind of man who wants an "injured doll" -- and says that the white bandages denote virginal grace, while the black ones mean wickedness.

BTW, the link is SFW.

Can't get to the link, but sounds unusual. Then again, the extreme ends of fashion usually are.

So you found a dumb picture on a dumb site we cant really read and therefore made up a dumb story to go with it therfore wasting our time by making a dumb post in which we make dumb comments wasting the time of other people who will read this who will comment back that this was dumb therefore making it more evident that this whole thread is dumb.

Those crazy Japanese.

I was watching a Taboo show on NGHD the other focused on nudity. Apperantly, there is a festival in Japan where a naked man HAS to run throw the street and people who touch him get good luck. There was a guy who after trying for 30+ years, he finally got to touch the "Spirit Man". He was so happy.

Well, they've already got tentacles and people sticking mummified body parts up a girl's vagina while raping her, not to mention "panties-sprayed-with-tuna-juice" vending machines.

Honestly, I'm not that surprised.

Superficial "flaws", within reason, can be attractive by denoting potentially advantageous diversity or risk-taking behavior, or conversely by soliciting protective instincts. Timeless examples include the beautiful, symetrical, face of a woman being enhanced by an otherwise repulsive mole. Likewise, a well-placed scar on a man. This fashion is merely an extension. An ugly woman with bandages is still unnattractive while the same doesn't necessarily detract from a beautiful one. Indeeed, an average woman may be enhanced by said protective instincts and also a sense of mystery.

"I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul."
Movie quote. Huh, never knew that. Probably the only thing of value to ever come out of an Adam Sandler movie.:D

It could also just be a sign that a person is simply too stupid to avoid obviously dangerous activities. ;)

"What's that scar below your right eye?"
"I was trying to catch knives with my eyelid."
"Oh. And what's that below your left eye?"
"I'm left-handed, so I figured I'd try with my left eyelid instead."
