Subpoena Facebook, round up all of everything that was posted, track down each and every idiot, and charge each one of them with capital murder, stalking, cyberstalking, assault and battery, child endangerment and anything else you could possibly make stick..

I wonder if that would get the point across?

I'm so very glad I got through school before all this online social networking stuff showed up. School's overriding lesson was that people are generally not worth the effort.
Though I wouldn't post any compromising pics of myself online.

Gots to get back to crawling in my skin now.

As an adult I've always tried to treat kids with compassion. Never to show anger when they do stupid shit, because I would never want them not to tell me something because they were afraid of my reaction.

The video has garnered the attention of many including the premier of British Colombia, Christy Clark.

ah, right on cue. this is a precursor to internet censoring under the guise of cyber bullying. you heard it here first.

Doesn't sound like she tried to talk to anyone about her problems. It's a shame. Teenagers can be cruel. I'm thankful that the kids I went to school with were relatively sane.

meh, being bullied is part of growing up, whether you are on the giving or receiving end. i don't remember people killing themselves when i was growing up.

granted, it's different in todays society with all of the social media and connectivity, so i can't really compare i guess.

while it's sad i can't say that it bothers me at all.

It's hard to relate to this as today's generation is so different.

They have it tough. To an extent you are no longer dealing with actual people, but more like these "characters" that are not even real online/texts etc.

Sure, bulling will never end. But internet makes it SO much easier for people to say things to others they would NEVER say to them face to face.

Lay off Facebook kids. It's worthless and does nothing improve ones life (yet gives people illusion that it actually does).

This is a lesson that EVERY parent should be teaching their kids. It's NOT easy though (ask me how I know).

She has no one to blame but herself. Why flash yourself? And why do it to people you've met online? Stupid.

Stupid, yes, but I think it's shitty to say she had no one to blame but herself. She's 15, probably 13 or 14 when she flashed the camera. Kids do stupid shit, it doesn't mean she deserved to be bullied wherever she went that got so bad that her 15 year old mind thought suicide was the only way to escape.

I don't know of anyone who "deserves" getting bullied, especially children. However, this was her choice to flash and it was her choice to kill herself. Honestly, better parenting would have prevented this tragedy but there are countless graves filled with people who did stupid things. The living need to learn from this and move on.

That poor girl. 🙁

I completely support this.

I'll seem heartless for this, but she brought it on herself, and her parents are equally culpable.

Supervise your kids when they're online, people. Especially when they're young. Going by the timeline, this started when she was 12 or 13. Why on earth would you buy your kid and allow them to use a webcam to chat with strangers over the Internet?

Teach your kid some fucking responsibility by being responsible yourself and you'll prevent this shit from happening.

why? its a horrible idea. can't tell if SunnyD is serious or not.

anyway, can't handle the heat? don't get out of the kitchen.

In this case three crimes have been committed here. Possession of child pornography, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and criminal harassment. the first two are serious offenses. So whoever obtained and distributed the photos should be arrested and charged.

The lesson we should be taking away from this is to make kids more street smart. Don't talk to strangers, report suspicious behavior to Facebook/mods/authorities, and never post nude photos of yourself on the Internet. Parents need to make their kids aware of the dangers and have the responsibility to make themselves aware as well.
