Clive would have been cool.

Early reports would leave one to believe you are totally wrong.

Looks like the movie may be pretty good! The actor also seems quite good in the trailer, too. :p

But WHY did they have to roll the Aston? DAMN THEM TO HELL! :brokenheart:

during filming, Craig actually f'ed up an Aston's tranny. He didn't know how to drive stick and messed up a VERY expensive car.

Trailer looks good, IMO. I like this new rougher, grittier portrayal of Bond.

Wikipedia stuff
If they were REALLY worried about continuity, Bond would be using a Beretta for his first mission. He originally used a Beretta, but in the beginning of Dr. No, M takes it away from him and tells him to use the PPK.

The James Bond in the original novels was not suave.

I've seen Layer Cake multiple times.

Clive Owen should have been the next bond.

I think he looks like he's done an awesome job filing the roll. Reminds me more of Sean Connery actually than any of the Bonds since. Connery had a certain "ruffness" about him that made the character much more likeable than the "stuck-up" characters that have played him since Connery.

the last dozen Bond movies look more like a contant runing explosion with very little story - I liked the days when Bond used to play golf with his adversaries

Craig looks like a geek....

I could see him in revenge of the nerd 4: Double-0 Dork

I'd wear a pink shirt to work before I'd comment on the current state of this thread.

QFT, but he turned it down.

Can't blame him. Only Sean Connery was able to avoid having career effectively end with Bond.

Tell you what, if someone wants to offer me $10 million to have my acting career effectively ended, offer away...

I just watched "Layer Cake" last night. Is it just me does it feel very similar to "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels"?

The guy who produced Lock Stock (and Snatch I think) directed Layer Cake... so there have been comparisons to the tone of the films, he's obviously influenced by Guy Ritchie's style in those 2 films.

OMFG! Poor Aston...I seriously would have cried, even if I didn't own the car. It's just too beautiful.

I am definitely going to be in the theaters on November 17!

i agree. He has the ability to be charming (Sccop), tough (X-men) or properly british (kate and leopold). Certainly a better choice than Clive Owen
