That is a commonly used technique. Well, something riders would like to do commonly. The trick is to not have the rear connect too soon in the turn. If you do, the bike flips you over and that hurts. Once you are through and going straight, then you are good to go.

i don't have much track experience... and can't even put my knee down yet... if the rear end accidentally steps out on me on corner exit... id probably panic and let off... and then id be flying 20ft in the air... 🙁

Yeah, that is where racers get into trouble at first. Letting off is the worst thing you can do. Worst case otherwise is that you slide too much and lay the bike down, which isnt so big a deal. You are in full leather and armor after all. Usually, you just get up a bit sore. Flipping over though sucks.

CrazyMofo- I know what you mean about high silica tires like the BT's. They suck when cold. I rode on Michelin Pilot Sports, and had to be careful about breaking traction when I didnt mean to. Oddly though, I replaced them with Pilot Sport HPX tires, and they seem better cold. Haven't figured out why.

SV650 and BT010's tires were cold and I was running hot into a turn freaked and hit rear brake a little to hard... like I said it wasnt intentional but had the same effect cause I was leaned over and the rear slid a bit and I corrected then went home and changed my underware!

I LOVE my BT10s on my gixxer.

Those MotoGP guys are insane. 120mph+ just a few inches off the ground around turns. Completely insane. MotoGP rocks. 😀

MotoGP is becoming now what Superbike was 4 o 5 years ago.

MotoGP is not so crazy ... supermotard is way better.

Supermotard style is faster on turn and much more fun.

Supermotard is also safer because speed is much lower.
