how do I use command prompt to copy a file from a disk to my HDD. I've never actually had to use this before.... Thanks a lot
 
I could be wrong, but I think it is:

C:> copy a:\xxx c:\yyy

where xxx is the location and name of file and yyy is the location you want to copy to
