If you don't order from the absolute cheapest retailers you can find, most decent places will ship on the same day you order (or the next day, if they're busy).

Example: Crucial.com order meory on Tuesday, you'll always have it by thursday, and they give free shipping. Go find the cheapest place on pricewatch and tell me if they do the same thing.

PW is chock full of vendors hustling house branded and generics. I'd rather spend say, $53 instead of $50 and get the microns or true samsung from my channels.

On an unrelated note notfred: RAM is a commodity. Even after prices dropped, crucial is still pricing high from the DDR boom back in July.
