Correct me if I'm wrong... but it isn't Germans calling Americans fat. It is an AMERICAN company, Subway, that is calling Americans fat. I don't remember an uproar when Subway started the Jared ads about losing weight. I guess it was just because it was said 'nicer'.

Well yeah, I realize that. But advertising is created to appeal to the audience. You'll notice the ads aren't in the US, they are in Germany. If Germans didn't like the message, it wouldn't be very good advertising.

hes comparing ADVERTISMENTS not literally fat americans vs german nazis(which you jumped on as such). but that germans are advertising americans as fat which is bad form period.

maybe YOU should read the post again.

edit: about the racist thing, hes trying to make a point, you dont know hes actually racist.

He compared WHAT nazi ADVERTISMENTS to what FAT AMERICANS advertisments? Please, explain.

In fact he didn't, he compared a German advertisment from an American company to his own views that Germans are still nazis (which is illegal), if you don't understand the issue, please refrain from commenting on it.

Well, advertising a fact is bad information? And no, that he is racist isn't the point, but comparing a fact (americans are the fattest population in the world) to some ebonics bullshit is only silly.

You cannot compare obesity to race and you cannot compare lack of intelligene to facts.

jesus h christ in a trailer park. do you understand what we are trying to say? ITS BAD FORM! and thats the issue.

he never said his view was that germans were still nazis... maybe you didnt detect the underlying scarcism because your in germany, but the point isnt that there exsist some 'germans = nazi' advertisment.

and maybe saying germans = nazi's is illegal in YOUR country but it isnt in america, its simply known that anybody who still thinks that is a bigot.

they(subway) advertised no fact. showing a fat statue of liberty is equating that americans are fat, and yes we have a higher precentage of fat people, but your still missing the point. its BAD FORM that subway of germany created this ad.

whatever and whoever godwin is you obviously had that ready for any post you'd read with nazi in it. hes not comparing anything to nazism, he was giving an example, maybe you didnt understand that and overreacted. if he gave the black people behind bars satement you would have went about your merry way.

"only americans would get upset over that" well of course, its making fun of americans.

we(americans) are not fat(im not fat by any means) because we eat hamburgers all day. we are fat because our government subsidized our vast food(and fast food) industry without health in mind. morgan spurlock is a joke and should not be taken serious. people went on the mcdonalds diet and ate RIGHT and came out of it losing weight.

numbers dont mean ethics

Well, since it only mentions Americans, I doubt the Italians, French, Chinese, Indians, etc. would be upset over that. It's like insulting someone and saying that only the insultee would be upset about it. Really? The hell you say!

"Hey, you're stupid! ... Only you would get upset over that."

Germany isn't a tiny country. It has varied audiences. Do the McDonald's commercials on the radio in the US appeal to you? Do the stereotypical 'manly' beer commercials on the radio in the US appeal to you? Do commercials for feminine hygeine products appeal to you?

I do understand the points being made here. I simply think it's people, again, making a mountain out of an ant hill.
