I have had the Harmony SST-659 for a few weeks, but tweaked it tonight and have it working everything properly. If you are not familiar with these, they have a USB cable which allows the unit to communicate with the intarweb via your computer. You then are directed to a website that asks you questions about your HT system, and how you use it. You can download up to 14 days of programming guide, allowing you to see what is playing on TV. It shows "The Time Machine" on the remote display. Pressing the button takes you to that channel. Nice toy 😀

Hey man, I have been considering one of these for a while, as I currently have 4-5 remotes. One question I have is if this remote will workt he DVD player controls of a PS2? That is what I currently use for playing DVD's, while I do plan to get a standalone DVD player in the future, it does the job for now. Just wondering if that is included in the supported devices? I'm sure the rest of my stuff probablyl is as its not to uncommon. Not to say the PS2 is uncommon, its just not a normal DVD player. I am hoping its supported, but would not be suprised in the least if its not.

I tried doing the online tutorial so i could see the list of supported devices, but its not working for me, the page won't load.

I've had a Sony AV2100 for years...replaced 8 remotes + it operates our window air conditioner, overhead light, and our ceiling fan (all have IR built into them) 🙂 If I get a Pepsi and a bag of chips, I don't have to get up for hours! heheh Anyway, those $100+ remotes seem expensive, but they're more than worth it.

How the hell does it operate your air conditioner?! 😕

Most of the newer window air conditioners come with a remote control for temperature, fan speed, power, etc.

My $150 Sharp air conditioner from CostCo, 4 years ago came with a remote. Did you use the "learn" feature to have the Sony learn your a/c commands or was there a code?

Someone tell that reviewer that I have a scroll wheel!

And as for controlling the gf, how about "Blowjob" button?

Since there's no way I'm getting the top of the line Pronto, I've looked at this and the HTMaster MX series. The MX800 is pretty cool too.

Unfortunately my receiver uses a radio-signal remote, rather than IR, so I don't think there are any alternative universal remotes. Anyone have any idea on this? It is a Kenwood VR-4090. It includes a universal remote, but ergonomically I'm not crazy about it.

My problem with universal remotes is that I always have one component that I really need the original remote for.

For instance, my tivo... with all the tivo-specific activities (thumbs up / down and the jump / play / pause etc keys) I need something that is based around those.. but then of course the POS tivo remote isn't good enough to effecitvely learn my receiver, tv, etc
