The main concern (which is certainly valid) is that it will block out perfectly acceptable web sites.
The library is in the business of providing information to people; it's not a very good thing to see "Blocked due to filter" for some information that you really need. Even if the library staff can override the filter, it's definitely preferable (to many librarians) to not have filters on public terminals.
