And now Malibu is pretty much ablaze again, great fucking grief.
WTF Is going on??

I had to evacuate my house last time, down here in SD, I sure as hell don't want to do it again. But we just had a fucking fire, now they have more bull shit. Malibu had fires, then we had fires, then Malibu has them again. This a month now, wtf is going on? Is there some idiot who thinks he's fucking hot shit and keeps setting fire to the place.

People like that ought to be shot. I'm glad they shot one of the arsonists, I hope he rots in hell, this shit is just such a pain in the ass. Arson is domestic terrorism--they need to be shot, and we'll see how many fires spring up in the future.

Agreed. I'm hoping no fires for San Diego.

Wildfires, drought, floods, etc? I think it's called nature. Some think people can change this.

change it? no but you can take steps to reduce the damage/power of them.

To some extent but, as an example of misguided manipulations, I'm always reminded of the amount of money the corps of engineers spent on straightening the meandering waterways in florida - and then after seeing the results - spent even more un-straightening them.

yes we try to do to much.

But simple things like cutting away dead growth, doing controlled burns, stuff t hat nature has done for thousands of years (that we do not allow to happen now) would help with the fires.

with floods again some minor smart things would save people. such as not building in flood zones heh. there was a new sub-division built 5 years ago. right on a field that floods every other year. the residents were pissed when it happens.

Have no sympathy for people who knowingly build on < 100 year flood plane ground - or on hills/cliffs that erode.

Have known several people with cabins on rivers that flood yearly. They know it'll happen and are prepared.

lol I hope you are joking.

Unfortunately, he probably wasn't...

I still say Global Warming is "Bull Excrement" but I don't want to hijack the thread....

aye, my family and all my old friends had to evacuate back in San Diego for the fires. two of my friends lost houses, but fortunately the fire stopped a mile and a half my family's house. I really hope it doesn't happen again in SD, and dammit Malibu...I hope it wasn't arson/accident again.

Yes, it's such a word. Maybe you grew up hearing it constantly, so you're immune to it? Watch George Carlin's 7 Dirty Words. It's one of the original 7 words that could not be spoken on television.

For your amusement: George Carlin
I sort of use that as a guide. :)

more (for those who can read)

Edit: Seriously though, I hope that you are okay. I can't believe that someone would start an uncontrolled forest fire on purpose. I don't know what those people are charged with, but it should be one count of murder for every person they kill.

Oh I'm ok, but this is just retardation; these fires keep springing up in huge blazes, and it's not going to stop by just being passive. They're a hassle, and people need to clamp down on abusive behavior with fire--especially during Santa Anna FFS.

Because arson investigators are looking into the causes, and apparently some teenagers started the fire after a party. YAY let's burn everyone's house down because we have to act so adult like and drink and then not know what we're doing. Three cheers!

Meh, no I didn't.
