Add to this the fact that the plumbing is BAD and he won't fix it, and the house is setteling and half the time the door won't close...

So anyway I was up until 4 AM moving and should finish today. It will be awhile until the cable/internet is hooked up at my new digs (NICE PLACE!) so you all my not hear from me for a bit.

You all play nice now. you hear!!

Or the owner realized that the previous rent was too low.

The area he lives in has seen a relatively large appreciation in home values in the last year or so. More than likely, the new owner is a new first-time landlord who does not yet know that rents do not always rise with values (and his mortgage payment). He'll find out soon enough. While values have been rising on the west coast, rents have not, and I've already seen a few new investment property owners get burned because they walked in with the wrong information/impression.

Brutuskend, good luck, see ya again soon.

Good luck, Dave. Gimme a call once you get settled in. Are you moving within the same city? Or are you actually moving somewhere into civilization? :p

Well the moves all done.

The Cable got hooked back up today (WOOT) and I'm sorta getting settled in.

I found out the new owner of my old house is somewhat of a slumlord, he owns several houses in and around the U. of O. area and I guess he figures he can soak some collage kids for WAY more than the old place is worth. (good luck to HIM on THAT one) but in the end it all worked out for the best!

The new place is MUCH nicer. Lots of fruit in the back yard (the edible KIND!) a central air, a jacuzzi tub in my master bath, and it's a 3 minute bike ride to work! :)

I'll save some major $$$ not having to drive to work every day! :)
