The price for 18 eggs went up $0.10 to $0.99 locally and a gallon of milk went from $1.39 to $1.89!!!!!!111 I might have to pay my butler more so he can afford these staples

Woof. I haven't bought garbage farm mass produced eggs and milk in probably 4+ years so I have no idea what they cost.

Dang, I just looked it up and a gallon of 2% is $2.39 at Meijer . I get the half gallons though ($1.69). :eggplant:

Here, a gallon of milk is more than $3, 18 eggs is usually more than $2.50. Gasoline at the local stations $3.49 for regular.

This gave me a terrible flashback to a serfdom job I had long ago in a small business. My then-gf and I both worked there and we could barely afford an dismal apartment, food and a crappy car with two incomes. Worked up the courage to approach the owner to ask for a raise.

His answer was to give me a big smile, invite me to sit next to his desk, and pull out a legal pad. Then the grilling started.
- Where do you buy your gas? Get it at [some station], it's 9 cents cheaper.
- I notice you and Michelle go out to lunch a couple times a week. Bring your lunch instead, you'll save $X per week between the both of you.
- Don't shop at the supermarket down the street, they have high prices. Go to [other supermarket] instead. That will save you at least $20/month.
- on and on.... then eventually...

So there, kranky, I just saved you about $80 a month and that's much more than any raise I could afford to give you.

Maybe that will work with your butler! 🙂

18 eggs cost around $4.00+ for large here. The equivalent milk price is between $4.00 and $5.00 here on average.

I'm told the milk shortage/price fixing/gouging is over and that milk has returned to a more responsible $1.49/gal
