This is ABSOLUTELY the coolest filesharing app I've ever used...

Unlike a lot of other music sharers out there, I'm predominantly interested in sharing live recordings of music - music that is by all means legal, as long as no monetary exchange is taking place. I've floated through Etree FTP sites, Direct Connect Hubs, and have had decent luck finding SHN files, etc., but moreso on a artist-by-artist basis. About a week ago, I came across FurtherNet - a p2p filesharing client used exclusively for bootlegs. Have been using it almost exclusively recently for DMB, moe. (my friend's uncle is the drummer), John Mayer, Martin Sexton and a bunch of other great artists...

Anyway, just thought I might share it with any of you that didn't see its recent appearance on /. 🙂

yeah...it's a great prog. My roomate introduced it to me last week. I've been getting Tenacious D shows...hehe. 😀

yep! Good app. I'm getting a Jack Johnson show right now from some guy at 30K... not too bad, and beats waiting around to get onto etree ftps.

I'm d/l at 2.5 times the fastest speed I've ever gotten on any p2p, and I've only just started.

edit: make that >7x , now.

LanEvo - you're "What the Transformers do on their day off" pic is pretty funny! Btw, Heinekin and Corona are two of my longstanding favourites.

I use SHNAmp for all my needs - a winamp plugin.
