This is a technology that's begging to be abused!

I would totally run ads on my plates if it let me not have to pay for registration or emissions. :hmm:

yea who gets the ad money? Do I get a bonus for parking somewhere with the plate visible? Do trucks get more $ since the plate is higher up and easier to see?

No doubt these will be hackable too! They say they want it to broadcast amber alert crap, that means it's got wireless onboard....

States already get money from custom plates, so probably the same place.

That's a terrible idea, I would never put that on my car. Also, where does it get the power? I don't want anything from the DMV wired into my car's electrical system.

That will never pass. If it does I weep for Hue Manatee.

I'd totally hack it and make it display the middle finger at all times.

Until it detects a cops nearby, then it will display the license plate number of whomever I hate at the time.

Hit and run... if you don't stop for 4 seconds, it doesn't display the plate. That's just plain retarded.

Digital license plates!
Hacking these will make speed cameras, red light cameras and toll collection cameras obsolete! Good going! 😀

They just started using cameras around here but now people are trying to stop on yellow to avoid a possible camera event and those behind are not expecting the hard brake on a just-turned-yellow so the result is a rash or rear-ender's..
