This is a longshot: What is title of this song?

Well, I was auditioning B&W speakers (CDM NT series) at a local hifi store and the guy there put in a cd. One song really showed how outstanding the speakers were and I did not pay much attention to the lyrics. I was simply amazed at how natural the sound was especially the vocals. It is sung by a female and the chorus goes something like "...nothing but blue sky"... Ok not much to work with but its one of those easy listening songs and I remember hearing it alot on those "lite FM" stations. It has a nice soft drum beat which were played in the beginning.

The lyrics aren't ringing any bells with me, but your description of the singer's voice reminds me of SixPence.

<< Is it the new Sheryl Crow song, maybe? >>

I think its an old song, think 3 years +. keep the suggestions coming!

<< I did a search on google and it gave me this

Do you think that may be it?
>>

"Blue Skies by Irving Berlin" Hmm... nope, this was a female singer.

Call a local 'lite FM' radio station and ask them to "play that song 'Nothing But Blue Skys' by that one female singer".

The song was written by him but it has been performed by a few different women.

I just wondered if the words sounded familiar?

Ok I believe this is the song:

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW

I can see clearly now, the rain has gone

I can see all obstacles in my way

Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind

It?s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day

It?s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day

I think I can make it now, the pain has gone

All of the bad feelings have disappeared

Here is the rainbow I?ve been praying for

It?s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day

It?s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day

Look all around there?s nothing but blue sky

Look straight ahead nothing but blue sky

I can see clearly now, the rain has gone

I can see all obstacles in my way

Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind

It?s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day

It?s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day

It?s gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day

But oddly, I can't find this version of the song sung by a female... oh well thanks to all who tried 🙂.

Number 5 on this CD could be it.

If not I would suggest that you do a search on the song using CDNOW. I did one and it came up with a few
versions of the song by a woman.

Hope this helps 🙂

I post a reply from Denis who can't no longer post here...

<< Je crois qu'il pourrait s'agir de la chanteuse Holly Cole (du Holly Cole Trio) et de sa version de I Can See Clearly Now disponible sur l'album 'Treasure 1989-1993' ainsi que sur 'Don't Smoke In Bed'.
I think it could be the women singer Holly Cole (from Holly cole trio) and her own version of "I can see clearly now" available on the record 'Treasure 1989-1993' and also on 'Don't smoke in bed'.

I hope this could help you in your search ? 🙂

That Holly Cole version sucks. It is too slow.

No way yakko - that holly cole version is the best one 😀 I got hooked on that song the first time I saw it as a video years ago. Lots of bass to to test out the sound in store.
