This is a longshot, but I have a question.....

This is my setup:
Windows Me
Verizon DSL
using RASPPPOE
AMD 1.33ghz
ASUS A7V133 (Latest BIOS and VIA 4 in 1 driver)
Netgear ethernet 10/100 PCI (Unsure of the model off hand)

My problem is, since upgrading my system to the above configuration,
whenever I try to download large files 200+ megs, about halfway through
I always get KERNAL32
crashes in windows and have to hard reboot. This happens with the
basic windows Me download, Getright download program, and download accelerator
5. Do you think this is a windows issue?? Motherboard issue that
is causing a problem with my ethernet card?? Could it be drivers?? I am
using the ones that came with the ethernet card. (Maybe I will check for new
ones) But I never had this problem in Windows Me before I upgraded to my ASUS
motherboard and AMD processor. The ethernet card is from my old system too.
My ethernet card is installed in the 4th PCI slot, the one that is supposed
to be shared with my USB controller. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!:(

Bump for you. It could be any number of things. Possibly a "download size cap" by your ISP? (To conserve their bandwidth.)

It might be worth it to reinstall Me, generaly you should reinstall the OS after changing motherboards, another option would be to go with the more stable and generaly better OS win2k. Millenium has a lot of bugs and is not particularly stable, unless you are playing games that will only run in ME I would switch to 2k, especialy if you dont want to move to XP for a while.

Increase the size of your 'Temporary Internet Files Folder' to something larger than 200 MB.

I did reinstall Me when I upgraded my system. I didn't have a problem
downloading in Me until I upgraded. I did sign up for the beta and
have downloaded Win XP RC2. I was using it briefly until I upgraded and
decided to return to Me since I wouldn't hvae to reinstall the OS
in six months when the evaluation period expires. I guess I can change OSs
again......hmmmm...
