Basically the woman took accutane then got pregnant and refused to terminate the pregnancy. The husband had a vasectomy 4 1/2 years before. The daughter is severely handicapped and she sued the doctor because its all his fault.

Seems to me she had a chance to avoid all this. By her trying to prove the doctors wrong, I think she is the only one responsible here.

that's why I summed it up a bit.

the child is the husbands'. Rarely, a vasectomy will reverse itself. No one expects that though.

Tough luck. No jury in their right mind would judge in favor of the plaintiff.

I agree. Chances are the parents will be set for life. Oh, and the child might get medical treatment.

they have strict regs with accutane. even if you think there is no way you can get pregnant they make you literally swear you won't risk it, and make you take pregnancy tests while on it.

i don't see the doctor who prescribed the med at fault at all. the patient was told of the consequences of getting pregnant while on accutane. now... the doc who performed the vasectomy, i'm surprised they aren't going after him.

Even perfectly performed vasectomies can reverse themselves.

BTW, I use to defend medical malpractice lawsuits, including many wrongful life cases.
