Most times reading through the local paper you can see a multitude of people who are totally out of reality in regards to how much their system is worth.

exactly, and he's not necessarily stupid. Me? I'm going to sell an old Celeron 433mhz with 128mb of ram and a 5gb hard drive for $300, $400 with monitor. I'll say it runs great for checking e-mail, doing a little bit of office work, using word, etc., nothing hardware intensive. If they want specs, they can ask, otherwise it's good enough to do everyday tasks. Yes, there are idiots who will pay the $400 for it even though $500 will get them a new 2GHz+ Celeron with monitor at a best buy.
Man, I should have sold my recent comp locally :) I sold a Celeron 1000 w/ 512 ram, 26 gigs hd space, for $150+ shipping, including all you need minus monitor, case, mouse/keyboard. That's what I get for selling to people with a clue though, vs. the goofs who read the paper :)

Absolutely no joke.. The guy is without a doubt for real.

Come to southside Virginia and see what people will pay for junk...

A local computer store that is now out of business was selling the locals around here RAM at the low, low price of $1.00 per meg... Of course it was a good deal because that was the installed price and we all know how difficult it is to install RAM.

Step One: Move to Virginia with lots of cheap RAM
Step Two: ???
Step Three: Profit!

;)

I was thinking the same thing, I have plenty of spare IBM campatable systems with Plenum prossessers that I could sell... mo' money! :p

Sounds about like the computers you find at Goodwill.

Talk about out of touch!

Poor bastard, probably won't believe that his comp's not worth $25, let alone $225!
See? That's why I moved away from there! :Q ;)
